 KO METALS = WALL POWER

Whether you're an interior designer, builder, realtor, or homeowner, KO Metals has decor that allows you to showcase your style and stay organized.

Small boards hold keys, written notes, and provide a place for mail, or to hang a bag or coat. You can create messages using dry erase markers or chalk pens while displaying photos, recipes, or schedules with magnets to create a space that is unique. Medium size boards are statement pieces to accessorize a wall and large boards are conversation starters created to organize and personalize a space or room.

 ABOUT KIM OPAT

Kim Opat, Artist and Owner of KO Metals, began working with metal in 2014 after recognizing the lack of functional art when organizing her own home. After some extensive research, Kim created several prototypes and invited others in the industry to critique her concept. The end result is a design that is not only aesthetically pleasing but useful and practical.

"It all started when I needed more space in the bedroom my kids shared as toddlers – clutter had taken over. Then I had an idea. I went to a metal shop and purchased a 4’ x 4’ magnetic board, drilled holes around the border, and painted a colorful frame. I used magnetic paper to support photos, eliminating the need for frames,  magnetic ABC’s assisted with spelling lessons, and the dry-erase surface was perfect for drawing contests."

Since then, the concept of creating functional and organizational art has evolved to include every room in Kim's home. She has boards to organize recipes, spices and refrigerator clutter in the kitchen; one for mail and keys in the back entryway; and a board in her office with important messages and her to-do list. The kids each have their own boards in their bedrooms that reflect their unique personalities, and the family room is home to a growth chart that displays each of their photos, height, and age, year-after-year.

KO Metals launched in 2018. "Organization is empowering. Personalizing a space creates energy and is an outlet for self-expression. My goal is to move this concept beyond my home and office and into yours."
